My morning class is not full of Beaver Cleavers. I was wondering why they were so much lower and harder than my afternoon class, so I started to look at their family dynamics. These non Beavers and Beaverettes typically do not are not at the readiness level for kindergarten. Many of them have never seen or used scissors, pencils, crayons, etc. They have never had a schedule or set of rules to follow. Many do not value education because their parents are NOT educated. Many of these students are hard to reach until they know that you REALLY care about them and their education. They need more one on one time, more praise, and more attention. Some are hard to love, even though they need it the most.

  1. I am always amazed at the dynamics of a class. I look at these children and realize that even though they are about the same age, their backgrounds are so diverse.
Some are hard to love and I know they need it most. It is hard to get past that sometimes.
